How a LoRa GPS livestock collar works

The collar obtains the animal’s position through GPS or BeiDou and sends location data to a LoRaWAN gateway. The gateway then uploads the information to the lora8 platform through Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a cellular backhaul connection.

This architecture helps farms manage a large number of animals while reducing the cellular communication and power consumption requirements of individual collars.
